I’m Here for You
by Dalia Ardon

Has spring begun?
you ask and look me in the eye.
It has, I hurry to reply.
I tell you I have seen
some red, some white, some green.
You look afar,
as if to ease your troubled mind with blooming trees.
Then in a flash you’re back.
The colors blend to black.
How can I help?
I ask.
How can you help?
you ask.
Can I get you coffee? I suggest.
Coffee? you ask me in dismay.
Yes, I say, you liked the one I brought you yesterday.
Okay, you humor me, you may.
